I spoke with friend and colleague Charlie O'Malley about his work illuminating unconscious processes in activism and in those working for change.

We touched on many of the themes and questions included in my programme for change makers: Power, Activism and the Shadow.

Charlie works on system change in the food and farming sector for the UN. He is also experienced in systemic constellations - an experiential, embodied approach to understanding and helping systems find harmony, health and flow.

In this 30 min conversation Charlie describes how systemic constellations work illuminates unconscious processes in change work, and helps people see more deeply into what is going on in their relationship to the systems they wish to change. He gives some examples from his work, and we touch on the idea of ancestral, or multi-generational processes - how patterns from the past play out, unconsciously, in our change work today.
